Volunteers
Volunteers
New volunteers are always welcome to help with all aspects of the running of the Day Centre
The type of help we require is:
In the Centre
General help is needed in the Centre, serving tea, coffee and meals, and providing support to the members. Hours are flexible, but we tend to work with a team in the morning and then another in the afternoon.
Drivers
The Day Centre has two mini-buses which collect members and deliver them home each day. Volunteer drivers are needed to collect members from their homes in the morning, and deliver them back to their homes in the afternoon. The morning run is at 9:30 for about an hour; the afternoon run is from 3pm.
Meals on Wheels
This service operates from 11.30 for about an hour, using either the Day Centre’s own car or your own transport.
When?
All the above could be on a regular rota or as occasional cover.
For the driving roles, you will need to have a valid driving licence and be under the age of 70.
We would also like to thank all the volunteers who have helped in many different ways to make all of this possible. We currently have a team of approximately 30 volunteers, covering driving, serving of teas and lunch and also helping with the delivery of meals on wheels.
